Experience Fortress Hohenwerfen without barriers
Here you will find all the information you need for your barrier-free visit
Fortress Hohenwerfen is an unmissable bulwark that towers high above the Salzach in Werfen and used to be an almost insurmountable barrier on the road to Salzburg. Today, many centuries later, Fortress Hohenwerfen is one of the main tourist attractions in Salzburger Land and we are committed to making the former fortified castle accessible to people with special needs. However, due to the historical and often massive construction, this is only possible to a limited extent. However, we now offer various climbing aids so that part of the complex is accessible without barriers.
